Week Notes 001
October 6 – October 12, 2025
- I had the first migraine in just shy of six months and although I could have let it write off my day, I didn’t let it. I rested and then my boyfriend fetched me some chicken nuggets when I came around and we had a chilled out evening.
- I ended up reading a whole book in only a couple of hours and then we went out to a Thai restaurant and celebrated my future MIL’s birthday complete with red velvet birthday cake and a dcuk baker duck with her name on it!
- Travelled home which seemed to take far longer than the trip down for some reason even though I got stranded in Horsham for over an hour because of a tree on the line from the high winds. The bottom of my back is absolutely crippled now from the train seats.
- My sister Beck texted me last night saying she didn’t know what to get me for Christmas so would I like to go pottery painting together. HECK YES!!!
- I received my RSPV to an extended family member’s wedding for May next year in the post and I’m super stoked. I’m really happy for them!
- I am finishing off this first Week Note wrapped up in my ghost blanket on the sofa, surrounded by piles of damp tissues, a box of decongestants, a Vicks stick, a big bottle of water and a giant cup of Earl Grey tea feeling a bit like death warmed up.
Snapshots
Caught a lovely sunset while driving to dinner, I ended up having a really decadent macaroni cheese with a side of crusty bread and salad.
Fitness
- Slowly eased back into the swing of things after nearly a week off with a light treadmill walk/jog and some yoga. I thought I’d try out using Downward Dog and see how it goes. I also downloaded Nike Run Club because I want to be able to jog/run a 5K with a good, steady pace and without stopping or changing to walking.
Reading
- I started and finished Gorgeous Gruesome Faces by Linda Cheng within a couple of hours. I fancied something a bit different and it did not disappoint. I loved the k-pop girl group element, the setting was honestly really unique to me being in an almost “big brother” type of house, the body horror was as advertised: gruesome, and the paranormal/folklore twist was really intriguing and kept me hooked.
Listening to
- I started listening to Sabrina & Corinne’s new true crime podcast “Crimes Of” on my way home from Bognor and I have to say I’m really enjoying it. They always make me feel as if I’m sitting criss cross apple sauce right across from them with my cup of coffee and we’re all hanging out. Nothing beats their Two Girls One Ghost podcast though. 👻
